During this time, Maverick relives difficult moments of his past as he trains Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his old friend Goose, who died in a flight accident 30 years prior.
Through this experience, Maverick must come to accept his past and prove his abilities to the new group of pilots, all while rekindling a past romance.
