Cala, TERENCE MWEDZI says: Our education system needs modernisation. It is more worrisome that children have been turned into ignorant, dependent automatons who need to be told what to do and generally incapable of independent thinking and action. Many schoolchildren do not study, but memorise useless information that does not correspond with changing times. It is time to invest in our education system. Times have changed, children need to be taught not only to get a job after school, but also to open their own businesses to tame unemployment. I think our education system should produce more employers than employees. Let’s change the colonial mentality and keep up with the times. It should be noted that Zimbabwe should also be far ahead in terms of scientific research and development.
