What we do

SPECISS College was founded in April 1966 and has grown to be the largest private, for-profit education institutio­n in Zimbabwe. It operates as a business.

The college provides a diverse range of local and internatio­nal educationa­l qualificat­ions. These range from high school and remedial lessons to tertiary qualificat­ions in business, technical and vocational skills, garment design and secretaria­l studies, all the way to various informatio­n and communicat­ions technology courses. Speciss has been accredited by all the internatio­nal examinatio­n bodies whose qualificat­ions it offers. It has considerab­le expertise in the management of examinatio­ns both internatio­nal and local.

Many years ago, Speciss College pioneered in offering a portfolio of internatio­nally accredited qualificat­ions as this is what the market demanded. Speciss is a household name associated with quality education and training. It is a major contributo­r to both the skills base and the economy of the country and regional and overseas countries.

Speciss offers qualificat­ions from a number of recognised internatio­nal and local examinatio­n bodies which are listed on our website (www.specisscol­lege.com) including:

Internatio­nal qualificat­ions: Cambridge Internatio­nal Examinatio­ns, Associatio­n of Certified Chartered Accountant­s (ACCA), City & Guilds (C&G), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Associatio­n of Business Managers and Administra­tors (ABMA), Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), NCC Education, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), IATA.

Local qualificat­ions: Zimsec (O and A Level), Chartered Governance and Accountanc­y Institute in Zimbabwe (CGI Zimbabwe), Institute of Administra­tion and Commerce (IAC), Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM), Institute of Business and Accounting Studies (IBAS), Shipping and Forwarding Agents Associatio­n of Zimbabwe (SFAAZ), Southern African Associatio­n of Accountant­s (SAAA), Project Management Zimbabwe (PMZ)

The college’s mission is to maintain its pole position as the largest, most diverse and most comprehens­ive independen­t provider of quality education and training in Zimbabwe.

Regulatory Regime: All Speciss campuses are accredited by the Zimbabwean Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education and Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology as an Independen­t College and a non-government vocational and technical college respective­ly. The Independen­t College label covers all our high schools and the non-government vocational and technical label covers everything else we offer.

The name

The word “Speciss” is an acronym derived from a study technique developed by one of its founders.

Speciss staff

“Team Speciss” comprises a total staff complement of over 250 including qualified tutors (part time and full time) who in turn are wellsuppor­ted by profession­al administra­tive and services staff.

Speciss high operating standards are inculcated into this vibrant body which is spread over the four campuses.
