IN response to Govt, teachers square off over holiday lessons, SHEPHERD NYATHI says: Government is oversteppi­ng its mandate. Let the teachers and parents decide what is good for the pupils. Holiday lessons have been there since time immemorial. Parents are free to decide for their children. During our time, holiday lessons were largely for examinatio­n classes. Government cannot put a blanket ban on every class. We can have holiday lessons for Grade 7, Forms 4 and 6 examinatio­n classes.

The El Niño phenomenon does not select who supports which political party. Hunger is knocking on many people’s doors and government must protect its people.

Nelson Chamisa has been brutalised by the system to a point where many have criticised his every move. What do those who criticise him do? Many of them are either not registered to vote or do not even go to cast their ballots when election day comes.

IN response to Pumula residents, Chinese miner clash over noise, NSWABANDA says: The Chinese are fast taking over our land. They now think they are entitled to be here in Zimbabwe. We have never benefited from anything they are doing here. They should respect us. Africa has suffered long enough from years of colonisati­on and do not want a repeat.
