Victoria Falls Carnival tickets hyped up

- Rumbidzai Mbewe Sunday Life Correspondent

EVERY year all adventurous souls and party lovers pack their bags to start the year at the fun and electrifying Jameson Vic Falls Carnival. The festival keeps getting bigger and better every year and revellers should expect a mind blowing festival this time around. It is billed to be on 29 to 31 December in Victoria Falls.

This year the theme is “unity”. One of the organisers of the festival Emmanuel Tivatyi said everything was on course and people have started buying tickets for the festival.

“You won’t believe it but the hype is amazing, people are buying tickets already and they are moving very fast. My take this year is that the edition will be bigger and people should look forward to an amazing festival,” he said.

A few changes have been made to this year’s programme. Community parties will spearhead the festival where tourists will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with locals and the major show will be on the last day of the festival.

“The train party which still has an increased capacity of 1500 people will be held on the second day of the festival and the major show will be on the following day. I am sure people will have lots of fun because artistes lined up for the show are big names and will keep them on their feet the whole night.

“We all know that people are struggling to get cash but still we are continuing with our plans. Some sponsors are still coming through and we appreciate the efforts being made by some of the sponsors who have helped us so far and those who are yet to put in their contributions,” he said.

Locals will not only benefit from the community parties but this year they have been given the chance to be part of the crowd, having fun at a lesser cost. Tickets for locals are now available for $45 and the promotion for these tickets is ongoing until 25 November.

“After realising that our prices were not reachable to the local community, we decided to have a promotion with cheaper tickets for our people. We hope that this year we will have many local people attending the festival,” he said.

Headlining this year’s show will be South African artistes Sketchy Bongo who is famous for his song Take it to the beach with Shekinar, a multi-award winning and best selling electronic hip hop duo Locnville, The Kifness, among others.
