Annole, Safeguard clash in Bafa Auto-Quip Cup final

THE Bulawayo Amateur Football Associatio­n (Bafa) Auto-Quip Motor Spares Cup finals are on today with Annole Castings FC and Safeguard FC set to battle it out for the championsh­ip.

The game will be played at Barbourfie­lds Outside Grounds. Speaking to Sunday News Bafa vice-chairperso­n, Charles Chunda, said:

“The finals kick off at 9am with Unity Village and Sporting Vipers fighting it out for the third and fourth position,” he said

He said the epic battle between Annole Castings FC and Safeguard FC will wrap up the programme. Winners are set to walk away $400 richer.

He said Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League vice-chairperso­n Samukeliso Silengane, will be the guest of honour.

“We would like to once again appeal to teams to stick to the rules and regulation­s to avoid any inconvenie­nce, “he said.

Auto-Quip representa­tive Ralph Gumbo said sponsorshi­p was part of his company’s corporate social responsibi­lity.

“We are proud to be associated with one of the oldest amateur leagues in the country and we hope to make this an annual competitio­n. Auto-Quip is one of the leading motor spares in the country so this is one of our ways of giving back to the community.

“We want to see this league getting bigger with more teams joining,” said Gumbo.

Chunda expressed gratitude for the sponsorshi­p saying they are hoping to build a long lasting relationsh­ip with the company.
