BIG Brother Africa has always been known for the drama, fights and love stories that come with it. Housemates in the television reality show back stab each other for one goal, which is representing their country and coming back home with the prize. After a long time, this year Big Brother Africa returns to our screens whilst Big Sister Africa, will also be screening their first season albeit online. The big question is whether Big Sister Africa will be better entertainment than Big Brother Africa?

Big Sister Africa, which is based in South Africa launched its first season on 30 December and auditions for the first season began on 30 January in South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and Nigeria, among other countries. Zimbabwe auditions will be held in Harare at the Show grounds from 27 to 29 April.

The show is scheduled to begin on 2 September and will run for 90 days on top social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and selected TV stations across Africa as a series for 24 hours. A closing series will be on 11 November 2018.

“The reality competition will be loaded with epic challenges, juicy romances, partying, travelling to luxurious resorts and surprising eliminations. It will be a combination of a reality series and a game show, the contestants battle it out each week to maintain their places in the house, all in the hope of claiming the prize awarded before midsummer,” read their Facebook page

The producers of the reality show, Neon Diamond said what made Big Sister Africa different was that it was conceptualised to identify and empower millions of academic students, sportsmen and artistes across Africa.

“Over the years Neon Diamond has engaged several strategic partners in media, finance, tourism and academic institutions building a platform that plays a bridge function to links young people to their desired worlds of careers,” read their Facebook page.

Big Sister will not be restricted to indoor activities but brings exposure of important destinations of the world to its viewership as the housemates will travel to beautiful places of interest, participate in clothing, perfume fragrance manufacturing, jewellery, alcohol distillation and clock assembling.
