Govt must appoint degreed school heads

-

MAY the Government speedily appoint degreed deputy heads and degreed TICs in all primary schools in the country. Most schools in the country lack these qualified personnel. Since 2000 heads have been appointing and recommending their friends to the ministry which has created confl ict in most primary schools in the rural areas as well as the secondary section.

Gone are the days of soliciting the support of parents for one to get a position of management in both secondary and primary sections. Church-run schools have a tendency of adhering to this diabolic policy. We are tired of this.

May I hasten to suggest that all teacher training colleges in Zimbabwe by 2030 offer degrees to all teacher trainees. Teachers are the backbone of the education sector in Zimbabwe.
