Zim Chal­lenge around the cor­ner

THE Zim­babwe Chal­lenge third Leg Sprinter Se­ries, the last en­counter on the 2018 horse rac­ing cal­en­dar is around the cor­ner.

This com­pe­ti­tion is pen­cilled in for 16 De­cem­ber at Bor­row­able Race­course will see run­ners bat­tle over a short sprint dis­tance straight home over 1 450m.

This is the last event on the 2018 rac­ing cal­en­dar, it usu­ally also comes along with a lot of thrills and ex­cite­ments.

Ac­cord­ing to the rac­ing pro­gramme pushed out early this year by the lo­cal horse rac­ing au­thor­i­ties, Mash­turf Club, on 5 De­cem­ber all as­pir­ing par­tic­i­pants will con­verge at Bor­row­dale Park in the morn­ing to sub­mit their pre­ferred en­tries.

Af­ter this stage they will re­turn to the same venue on 10 De­cem­ber for the last stage that is the ac­cep­tance stage.

Once the ac­cep­tance stage is done with the bat­tle lines drawn, all par­tic­i­pat­ing teams will re­turn to their re­spec­tive sta­bles to sharpen their swords and strate­gise for the last time in prepa­ra­tion of the race day.

There is $7 000 in stakes money for tak­ing away by the win­ner and se­lected placed the three-placed run­ners up.

All con­nec­tions that make it through to the fi­nal list will be an­tic­i­pat­ing to give it their best shot and sign off with a bang.

There­after the lo­cal horse rac­ing in­dus­try will take an X-Mass break and re­turn for more ac­tion in Jan­uary 2019.

As usual they will be a num­ber of sup­port­ing acts to spice up this race day all with stake monies of US$7 000 each.
