Zim Challenge around the corner
THE Zimbabwe Challenge third Leg Sprinter Series, the last encounter on the 2018 horse racing calendar is around the corner.
This competition is pencilled in for 16 December at Borrowable Racecourse will see runners battle over a short sprint distance straight home over 1 450m.
This is the last event on the 2018 racing calendar, it usually also comes along with a lot of thrills and excitements.
According to the racing programme pushed out early this year by the local horse racing authorities, Mashturf Club, on 5 December all aspiring participants will converge at Borrowdale Park in the morning to submit their preferred entries.
After this stage they will return to the same venue on 10 December for the last stage that is the acceptance stage.
Once the acceptance stage is done with the battle lines drawn, all participating teams will return to their respective stables to sharpen their swords and strategise for the last time in preparation of the race day.
There is $7 000 in stakes money for taking away by the winner and selected placed the three-placed runners up.
All connections that make it through to the final list will be anticipating to give it their best shot and sign off with a bang.
Thereafter the local horse racing industry will take an X-Mass break and return for more action in January 2019.
As usual they will be a number of supporting acts to spice up this race day all with stake monies of US$7 000 each.
