Faithfulness that is unmatched

-

Deuteronomy 7 v 9

KNOW, recognise and understand therefore that the Lord your God, he is God, the faithful God, he keeps covenants and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

People love to debate on the faithfulness of God. Some do it without knowing it. Some argue that God is out of contact with the world we are living in. The basis of such reasoning being that we are under a lot more pressure than people of old. That our levels of temptation are worse than those the older generations had to endure. This statement is true to a point.

It is true that we are under more pressure that generations before us. The devil has been rolling out new tricks for us and more and more people find it impossible to resist him. What is not true however, is that God does not understand the predicament we face. On the contrary he understands it more than anyone else. As an act of understanding, he too readies his people for the challenges to come. He says:

Acts 2 v 17

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit on every kind of people. Your Sons will prophesy, also your daughters, your young men will see visions and your old men dream dreams.

Meaning as the devil brings in homosexuality and all sorts of bizarre things upon the earth, God in turn brings grace to glide above them. But we must remember one thing, the Holy Spirit is very gentle. He will never force Himself on anyone. Very often we choose to face today by our own strength, He will let us do so.

God is so faithful that faithfulness has become synonymous with him being God.

The Bible says he is God, the faithful God. This implies that there are gods who are not faithful. What sets our God apart is his faithfulness. If the Bible does not convince you, then look at your life. The economy is insane, no one know what tomorrow holds, yet you have not died of starvation. That is the faithfulness of God. There has been a viral outbreak in Asia, but you and your family are safe and fine.

This does not seem like a miracle, but think of the number of people that travel to China that you have come into contact with but you are well. You have future plans, you have things you are working to achieve beyond today and you trust that you will be alive to do them, it is all the faithfulness of God. Personally I can testify that I never get sick. The only time I ever get ill I suffer from one of two things. The common cold, or headache. Beyond that, my mind cannot remember the last time I ever got sick. I’m not eating well, it’s not exercise, it is the faithfulness of God.

I believe there is corporate faithfulness of God. That is the one for all people. Where the sun rises for all of us, it rains in all our gardens and oxygen is readily available in the atmosphere for all. Then there is special faithfulness for those that love Him and keep his commands. This I believe goes beyond just the sun, rain and life. God goes beyond the normal and takes special care and regard for you. This is only reserved for his children. This faithfulness is where God pours out His spirit on his children. All different children of God. The spirit of God gives you an unfair advantage over all things. A spirit filled person does not struggle to do things that other people have a torrid time trying to accomplish. Even if they do struggle, in some cases the endurance to keep trying is beyond human comprehensions. In all things you get in this life, make sure you get the anointing of God. The Bible even warns us not to fight one that is spirit-filled. The Bible says it an automatically lost battle. The spirit of God can transform your life.

Trust in God and trust in his promises. He has plans for you and never forget how faithful he has been to you. Have a blessed week ahead. Facebook - Itai Chapunza
