Spirit of distraction

GREETINGS beloved nation in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In these days that we are living in, the enemy has released a spirit that distracts the people of God so that they may not focus on their deliverance or on their next level.

People are so busy with God’s programmes whilst they don’t have time to spend with him. Many people are surrounded by many things that the enemy is sponsoring unknowingly to a believer so that they may not have quality time with God. It has become a norm for people to be hustling in the name of, ‘if we don’t hustle, we cannot feed our families’ of which there is nothing wrong about that. But when we look at the order of God concerning our lives according to the book of Mathew 6:33, it speaks about ‘first seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.’

I know people may ask that should we spend the whole day praying, reading the bible and not going to work. No, I am not saying that. We are wise people and we are not careless with life. When did God start not to bring provision to his people? There are distraction spirits that have employed people unknowingly. It makes them so busy that even in their busy schedule there is nothing to show that they have been doing something that is productive. It’s a sign that the hand of the almighty is not upon whatsoever projects that we are doing. The hand of the Lord is not evident and when we put ourselves onto the scale of the spirit you will discover that our being busy is high and our spiritual life is low because we have not given God more of our attention.

That’s why you will discover that everyone is crying like unbelievers and you wonder where God is in the midst of all this. The conclusion is we have not given God much attention. We have concluded that he is slow and he doesn’t provide, that’s why in everything that we do we have put him aside. We have even made statements of saying ‘we can do it without him.’ That’s why the business people are crying, including the workers and everyone. My question is has the power of God gone such that we cannot see his provision?

Little did we know that the devil has programmed demons to occupy us with programmes that have made us not to focus on God. For some it has paid off materially but spiritually they are dead, of which the order of God according to the book of 3 John:2 is this, “Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”.

So if we are prospering in the physical whilst our soul is not prospering, that’s a sign that there is spiritual disorder in us. We are not walking with God. It is good to have all things but as long as your spirit is not prospering, you are as good as not prospering. You are as good as a rich beggar who has nothing. The bible says what will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. So we are in that time where the enemy has no problem in seeing the church succeeding materially whilst spiritually they are suffering; no discernment, no prayer life, no intimacy with God. They are not current in the spirit.

They cannot even interpret the handwriting on the wall like Daniel. Daniel could interpret the writings upon the wall because of his spiritual alertness. When we read in Exodus 5:5-8, 12, 17, when the children of Israel were in captivity and there was a demand for their deliverance, pharaoh the king of Egypt had to strategise a system that the children of Israel will be kept busy in such a way that they will not have time with their God. Friends there are things that God wants for us. He wants us to rest in his presence so that he will open certain opportunities in our lives that will cause us to serve him without carrying burdens of life when we truly walk in his footsteps. We see that the distraction that pharaoh gave them was so that they will be so tired and not demand their deliverance. He had to command his task masters and officers that they shall no more give them straw to make bricks, they should gather the straw for themselves because pharaoh said they were so idle because they have been crying for their freedom. One of the things that the devil will do to distract you, he will make sure that you don’t have time with God. He will bring so much distraction that you will think you are blessed yet your spiritual life is going down. This is what happened to the children of Israel. He called them idle and we are told the people were scattered abroad throughout the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.

There are a lot of Christians who are scattered all over the world in search of greener pastures. In everything that they are doing, their spiritual life is suffocating in the name of having no time and they have suffered casualties by the hand of the enemy. They are no longer vibrant for Jesus. I am talking about balancing your spiritual life and your physical life. If your spiritual life is not up there whilst your schedule is up there, it’s a matter of time before the enemy blocks you from getting to where God wants you to be. Thank God that you are earning so much but check your spiritual life because life begins in the spirit and life is spiritual. May the Lord bring us into balance and into a place of worship in spirit and in truth, where when we are doing work our spiritual life is also in the highest point of where God wants us to be.
