Hwange just a point away from PSL return
HWANGE Football Club are just a point away from securing a return to the Premier Soccer League after securing a 3-0 walkover score line when Ajax Hotspurs failed to pitch up at the Colliery Stadium yesterday.
With six points to play for, all Hwange have to do is get a draw in one of the remaining matches to seal promotion and return to the top flight.
Ajax Hotspurs director, Siphambaniso Dube said they sadly could not make the trip from Bulawayo to Hwange due to financial constraints.
As a result, Hwange profited and they now need just a point from their remaining matches to be crowned champions. Their rivals, ZPC Hwange hammered Indlovu Iyanyathela 4-1 at White City Stadium. Justine Kaunda, Prosper Mathe,Tyson Muzamba and Morgen Nyoni were on taget for the electricity generators.
Chipangano are on 82 points while ZPC Hwange have 77 points but it will be all over if Hwange secure just a point at home against Indlovu Iyanyathela at the Colliery Stadium on Saturday, the same day that ZPC Hwange get the free three points courtesy of the now defunct Indonsakusa.
Ajax were not the only team that failed to travel for an away fixture as Mountain Climbers also did not make the journey to Victoria Falls and Mosi Rovers got a 3-0 walkover.
Third placed Arenel Movers thumped Binga Pirates 3-1 and Talen Vision, occupants of fourth position won 2-0 over Zimbabwe Saints.
