Matobo, Insiza by-elections incident-free

THE Zanu-PF Matabelela­nd South leadership last night said it was satisfied with the way council by-elections were held in Matobo and Insiza districts.

The by-elections were held in Ward Two in Matobo while in Insiza the contest was in Ward Four.

“The elections went well with a majority of our members turning up in their numbers to cast their votes. The elections were peaceful and now we are waiting for the electoral body, Zec to complete the counting process,” said Zanu-PF Matabelela­nd South Political

Commissar Cde Washington Nkomo last night.

He added that the ruling party was confident of victory.

Posting on social media, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Informatio­n, Publicity and Broadcasti­ng Services, Mr Nick Mangwana applauded the serene artmospher­e.

“Voting is going on peacefully and in an orderly manner in Matobo. We applaud the serene atmosphere.”

Zec officials last night also weighed in saying the elections went well, with voting peaceful.
