ZPC KARIBA staged an electrifying second half performance, coming from behind to beat relegated Whawha 2-1 in a Castle Lager Premiership match played at Ascot Stadium yesterday.

Goals from Kudzanai Dhemere and Vassilli Kawe secured the maximum points for Kauya Katuruturu, Jayden Barake had opened the scoring for the home side in the first half.

The victory means the power utility outfit remains 14th on the log standings with 35 points cutting the gap between themselves and 13th placed Cranborne Bullets to just a point.

ZPC Kariba coach Darlington Dodo praised his charges for showing character in the second half of the match, he reminded them that the second half performance, should be the order of the day in the last three matches.

“We need to manage our own destiny, because if we leave it in other people’s hands it will be very difficult. So what we need to do is what we did today get the three points and it will safeguard us.”

The hosts’ coach Luke Petros bemoaned his side’s lack of depth for the loss.

“In terms of depth, we are handicapped, we had two players in our midfield who were suspended and when one of our players got injured, we didn’t have cover that is where we lost it,” Petros said.
