COUNCILS must progressively work on our roads instead of being reactive when their state deteriorates to the point of endangering lives. Mzimba in Coldstream, Chinhoyi, is a case in point. — Concerned, Chinhoyi.
*** The Mighty Warriors justify their adjective. These are the true warriors unlike their male counterparts who let us down when it matters most. Hope this will be motivation to the men’s squad. Our Mighty Warriors deserve our honour. — Tinovaziva, Harare.
*** Is the fellow who wrote the report “FC Platinum stun Bosso” a journalist or a Bosso fan. Professionalism first please; you are free to support any team of your choice on your own time not in the press. — Launcher.
*** It is time for bold and out-of-the-box decisions and action from the Central Bank and Treasury. We cannot go on milking a rock forever, but it seems this is what we are prepared to do. Let us start thinking about having our own currency and let us figure out a way of backing it and giving it value through all the untapped resources we have. This, however, requires honest and trustworthy people and institutions to carry out. The banks may be milking the people, but the policymakers are not taking bold steps to define a clear vision for our future. We need clear and concise medium to long term policy positions supported by a bold and disruptive fiscal and monetary policy. Nyika vanhu, musha matare. — Wilson Magaya, Harare.
*** Refreshing article by Prof Fred Zindi in yesterday’s paper. The content will always make sense, coming from an indisputable authority, as long as it is not about Prof Zindi, but musicians and the industry. — Mr Right, Harare.
