“I am so excited to be the master of ceremony at such an event where we have all the fashion and model enthusiastics under one roof. This is my passion and I will also try to use the opportunity to network with those in the fashion business,” said Hollywood Lee.
Facilitators of the course are drawn from the fashion industry and they include Charlene Kunira, Gilmore Tee, Micheal Jacobsen, Emily Kachote, Patience Muzanenhamo and Shamiso Ruzvidzo among others.
Topics to be covered include Fashion and Style, Photography, Media, Red Carpet and Spotlight, Pageants and Promotional among others.
In an interview founder and director of Zim Models Workshop Tinotenda Mjoni said he is excited with the initiative as it will go a long way in developing the industry.
He said preparations are at advanced stage with some of the participants confirming their slots at the show.
“A lot has been happening in the industry and we have seen that modelling just like any other profession should be taken seriously. We came up with this concept of having a workshop where we invite the captains in the modelling to come share with us their vision, experience and give insight on how we can, not only shape the industry, but change it. The motive behind this workshop is to try to revive the industry and equip the models with knowledge,” he said.
He said the workshop will protect models from being used and being taken for granted as well groom them.
“There will be scouting and promotions. The registration fee will be US$5 and VIP is US$10. We are also going to award certificates to the participants,” he said.
Mjoni who is a model by profession said one of the guest of honours include South African hair stylist Vushlywave.
“Our model icon for 2016 is Tendai Hunda. We are going to have a celebrity from South Africa Vushlywave who will do a make-over. Outre Sensational is going to come and talk about hairstyle and hair maintenance.
There is going to be hair promotion while Oxygen Fitness will give away a discount for all models who participate,” he said.
Mjoni said there will be some agencies also who will sign some of the models while a surprise performer will entertain the guests.
