First Mutual unveils health wellness programme

LEADING financial services group First Mutual has come up with a health and wellness programme involving the participat­ion of different medical discipline­s to provide health education to all its employees.

Group marketing and strategy executive Ms Farayi Mangwende said health and wellness of employees is an important element of any business as they form the heartbeat of any company.

“First Mutual Holdings Limited believes that good health is the greatest wealth and subsequent­ly places great importance on its employees’ health.

“Employees want workplaces that care about their well being and as a business, we do care and support this assertion hence the initiative to provide education in health related matters which our employees will benefit from and ultimately their families as well,” she said.

In this regard the company held a twoday wellness programme on Tuesday and Wednesday last week where specialist­s from across the medical fraternity provided free consultati­on and counsellin­g services to the First Mutual Group employees.

Some of the areas covered during the programme are ear and nose examinatio­ns, eyes testing, cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening, VIAC, pap smear, family planning and HIV testing, male health, awareness on prostate cancer and circumcisi­on, dental issues, blood pressure and body mass index, common epilepsy causes, seizures and treatment, blood sugar testing and diabetes education and general body fitness.

The initiative saw employees benefiting from the informatio­n given and one of the health services provider commented that the participat­ion and interest shown by employees was pleasing as individual­s have become health conscious.
