Earth remains constant

-

Deuteronomy 1 vs 8; “See, I have given youth island. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and to their descendants after them.

” WHILE driving the other day, I saw a well-maintained farm. As I admired, it suddenly hit me that as human beings from generation to generation, we have come and gone and we will continue to do so, but the gift of the land remains constant.

In other words, we have been given the privilege of living on earth for a time. Each one of us has a clearly defined time frame at the end of that time you will leave the scene and someone else will come.

Likewise on this farm with its beautiful trees and well-manicured fields that are all in use, a time will come when the current inhabitant will come to the end of his life, another will come and he will also use the land.

How the land will be used will differ from person to person, the latter may do better than the former and vice versa, but certainly an opportunity will be granted to someone to come and try his skills.

What is interesting is though the land remains constant, each one of us has been given an opportunity to leave a mark of our existence on this world. When you visit certain places you are awe struck by the majesty of the place. You are then told the history of the amazing place and the story of those who were there before.

When you see images of the pyramids in Egypt, they speak of a time of great promise, big ideas and a ruler who did extraordinary things. There are certain buildings and monuments that leave you with this one thought; how could someone have thought to do this and how did they even manage to accomplish such an amazing feat?

God gives enlightenment to each one of us, this enlightenment is the basis of how we do the things that we do. For some the light that He provides is utilised in full, everyday is taken as an opportunity to shine and to make full use of the blessings that they have been given.

To others, the same light comes, but it has absolutely no effect. The individual without the grace of God continues to blindly walk through life not seeing the opportunity God has presented.

God has given each of us an opportunity to be able to use this gift that is called the earth to do great things. The choice is ours to either seek His presence to help us succeed or to continue walking in darkness.

Be Blessed.
