SLIZ rallies Warriors

- Tedious Manyepo Sports Reporter

THE Sport Leaders Institute of Zimbabwe have challenged the Warriors to forget their underdog tag if they are to get a result against Algeria in Franceville, Gabon, tomorrow.

SLIZ president, Russel Maradza Mhiribidi, said the Warriors stand a better chance of progressing to the last eight if they dump their underdog tag.

“The Zimbabwe Warriors should change their mindset and start to see things the way they should be seen. We have been to the AFCON twice before and I believe we have learnt enough lessons. There is no way we can always go to such tournaments to learn. The national team is made up of senior players, most of whom are in the twilight of their careers. They must just deliver the goods.

“The game against Algeria is very crucial and we have to win that one at all costs to ease the pressure. History favours us but we must be very cautious not to dwell much into the past. I believe the current crop of Warriors is the best ever,” he said.
