City of Harare an inefficient bunch

-

EDITOR — The MDC-T-run City of Harare should bear the blame for the flooding that has been happening in the city centre.

Council has not shown willpower to fix the problem.

After viral images of the flooding rocked social media last year and the number of articles which were penned in light of the water clogging, one would think that the “experts” at Town House would move fast to solve the issue.

The collecting water, usually dirty, adds to the water-borne disease problem which has been reported over the days.

For people who get astronomical salaries on a monthly basis, their poor response is amazing and beyond comprehension.

If something as simple as clearing the water- way is proving to be a challenge to the city fathers, they should calm their horses with the “2025 World Class City” talk.

I do not know anywhere in the world where there is a waterlogged CBD, in comparison to cities like Johannesburg.

The biggest problem with the city council is that they like to set goals they do not follow up on. All their high sounding talk has not amounted to anything tangible, ratepayers are being short-changed.

Besides issuing statements, the City of Harare has not done anything plausible.

The city drainage is evidence of their immutable ineptitude.
