IT is only the lazy and direction-less traitors who do not believe in being masters over their resources. They have swallowed the colonial syndrome hook, line and sinker and prefer white skins to think for them and lead them. How can a fully grown black Zimbabwean advocate to return Zimbabwe to white colonial hands? We need to be focused on empowering ourselves as black Zimbabweans because we have the intelligence and capacity to do so. — KK, Harare.

I would like to wish President Mugabe a happy birthday. He has led this country for close to 37 years and has championed the empowerment of his people. He is an icon of the African continent and should be celebrated. — Donald Taungana, Bindura.

The fact that City of Harare needs $1,6 billion to fix the water situation is concerning and disheartening. How did we let things get to this stage? Why were repairs and upgrades not taking place over the years? I think we need to introspect and have better planning in our local authorities. Wear and tear should be accounted for and provisions made to deal with it. — Rosemary Moyo, Harare.

Condolences to the family of Professor Primrose Kurasha and the nation of Zimbabwe. She came across as a very determined woman and above all very humble. An inspiration to many and a distinguished daughter of the soil. Go well Mother of Graduates. May your dear soul rest in eternal peace! — GC, Harare.

I like the fact that Philip Chiyangwa has chosen to challenge Issa Hayatou’s hold on CAF. The development of the game in Africa means that other African countries should be more involved in the running of the continental body. Hayatou seems to have favourites, which prejudice the development of football in some countries. We need a better run CAF. — Thomas Chisvo, Mutare.
