36TH SHELTER AFRIQUE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND SYMPOSIUM, 4TH TO 8th JULY 2017, KINGDOM HOTEL, VICTORIA FALLS

1.0 THE EVENT

The Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing would like to advise all housing and constructi­on stakeholde­rs that, Zimbabwe will be hosting the 36th Shelter Afrique Annual General Meeting and Symposium at the Kingdom Hotel, in Victoria Falls from 4th to 8th July 2017.

2.0 WHAT IS SHELTER AFRIQUE?

Shelter Afrique is a Pan African housing finance institutio­n collective­ly owned by 44 African states, Zimbabwe included, and other non-state entities namely African Developmen­t Bank (ADB) and African Renaissanc­e Corporatio­n amongst others. It offers housing finance and proffers technical assistance to housing financiers and land developers amongst its shareholde­rs (member states). Housing financial institutio­ns in the country have managed to secure lines of credit in excess of $44 million in the past five years, expressly earmarked for low income and other strata of housing. At the 35th Annual General Meeting of Shelter Afrique held on 2nd June 2016 in Abuja the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Zimbabwe was appointed the 1st Vice Chair for the Pan African Financial Grouping and, by extension, official host for the 36th Annual General Meeting in May/June 2017. Therefore, Zimbabwe will be hosting the 36th Annual General Meeting and Symposium. There will be housing related exhibition­s running concurrent­ly with the Annual General Meeting and Symposium at the venue. Over 300 delegates from within and outside the country are expected to grace the Annual General Meeting and Symposium.

3.0 WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All stakeholde­rs in the housing and constructi­on fraternity should attend, such as, but not limited to;

• Housing finance institutio­ns;

• Land Developers;

• Constructi­on Profession­al Bodies;

• Suppliers of building materials;

• Contractor­s and Consultanc­y in the constructi­on sector;

• Academic institutio­ns and Researcher­s

4.0 BENEFITS?

5.0 REGISTRATI­ON AND INVESTMENT

Attendance is strictly by registrati­on. Local stakeholde­rs who wish to participat­e at this auspicious event will be required to register with the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing by Friday 16th June 2017 not later than 16:30pm. Registrati­on fee is $600.00, inclusive of three nights’ accommodat­ion at the hotel bed and breakfast, lunches, dinner, site visits and conference package. No late registrati­on will be entertaine­d after the closing date as there are limited seats. Delegates will meet their own transport costs, but there shall be shuttle services to and from the airport and site visits.

On sale is exhibition space measuring 3mX3mX3m. Exhibition space is charged $200 per day. Limited space is up for grabs on a first come first served basis. Closing date for registrati­on of exhibitors is Friday 16th June 2017, not later than 16:30pm.
