Response to “Command Agric surplus destined for export market”

Why not stock for next year. The rains are not always good you know. — @BlackHantaa.

*** Response to “Manicaland Presidential Youth Interface Rally”

It’s a huge turnout. Let us all rally behind the President. — @chidomahuni1.

*** Opposition beware. — @ginothesaint. The Herald — Zimbabwe

Response to “Bogus cops mount roadblocks”

Why can’t you have a separate department for instance traffic department with its different uniforms and different cars like in South Africa? Right now any police officer is able to set up a roadblock and this is not good. — Mapfumo Mupandasekwa.

*** Police chiefs should bring back force number identification displays to curb corruption. — Gee Biggy Tafadzwa.

*** Response to “Govt to roll out $60m road rehab”

As long as we continue to import petrol and diesel (finished products) we will always have bad roads. Let’s make use of Feruka in Mutare and import crude oil, after all tar is a by-product of the petroleum-making process. Hopefully these resource mobilising headlines will cease when we get our strategy right. SMS/WhatsApp: +263774111101

Matepatepa Dam in Chiweshe, Mashonaland Central Province is awesome, eye-catching and panoramic. Very big, full of clean fresh water and stretching for kilometres along Ruya River, but there are no irrigation schemes along the way. Only small subsistence gardens are sparsely dotted on both banks of the dam. A few villagers who have mastered the art of improvised fishing are now and then seen in their makeshift canoes. The dam could be used for vibrant irrigation projects that could change people’s lives. I urge the village leadership to team up with Chief Makope, the area MP and petition the Government to take up the issue and develop the area. — Thomas Murisa, Harare.

*** It is encouraging that Air Zimbabwe is embarking on organisation development through its mooted Management Development Programme. It is important that the programme is initiated once the refinancing package is at hand and workers are motivated.

The appropriate consultants would be recently retired heads of engineering, human resources, operations and finance from the world’s best airlines. — Chirorodziva.

*** This time around Zifa president Dr Philip Chiyangwa and his team must scout for a long-term sponsor for our boys, not the Chivayos and Magayas of this world who behave as if the Zimbabwe national soccer team is their personal project. Some are running their clubs like boozers’ club where the president of the club is a player, coach, supporter, CEO and sponsor.

They pretend like good Samaritans yet deep down they have hidden agendas. Of course Zifa need a crucial hand at this juncture, but those with fat wallets must not take advantage of predicaments we are facing as a nation. — Cde Bla Max Boomerang, Harare. www.herald.co.zw

Response to “Tributes pour in for Cde Chinx”

RIP Comrade Chinx, we will start from where you left. For the war will never be over until it’s over. Until all who believe the other side is fine are taught to respect themselves, their culture and their nation. — Ray Mbada.

*** Response to “Freak incident taints Glamour Boys’ joy”

This is as bizarre as it can get, the goal post giving in to the force of the goalkeeper. But anyway it’s all about breaking the jinx this year, we did it with Yadah and there are now in free fall now we have done it again with the Gweru side, well done Lodza although the game is not yet over, 32 minutes to go. — Eliah.
