MASHONALAND Central Zanu-PF provincial chairperson Cde Kazembe Kazembe has thanked President Mnangagwa for appointing three more Politburo members from the province.

The two have not yet been assigned their portfolios.

Speaking at a special provincial executive and provincial coordinating committee meeting held on Saturday in Bindura, Cde Kazembe thanked the province for successfully hosting President Mnangagwa on his visit at Siyalima Farm in Guruve.

The President also visited Centre Zimbabwe Africa High School owned by Johane Masowe Vadzidzi VaJeso Church in Shamva earlier this month.

“Our President is a man of his words,” said Cde Kazembe. “He promised to give us (Politburo) positions during his visit. Before, we only had one Politburo member.

“I want to thank the party leadership for successfully hosting the President. We did an excellent job and we set a benchmark.

“We convened this special meeting so that we deal with pertinent issues, including early campaigning of aspiring candidates. It is not campaigning time yet, we shall be advised by the commissariat.

“Give us a report and evidence of those who are not taking heed and they will be disqualified. Chairpersons who are aiding these people and taking their money will receive disciplinary action.

“Rushinga is marred with problems because of this issue and we will go there to address the challenges.”

The provincial executive committee confirmed Fernando Luwizhi as the provincial youth chairperson and appointed Cde George Manyame as the secretary for security.

Cde Monica Mavhunga was asked to continue as the provincial political commissar until the appointment of a suitable candidate.

Bindura North legislator Cde Musanhi took the opportunity to thank President Mnangagwa for unveiling chick-hatching incubators in the province.

“The incubators have a capacity to hatch 20 000 chicks per month,” he said. “We can start by giving 5 000 chicks to four districts until all the province benefits.

“We want to resuscitate our sugarcane project. Let’s utilise the Zambezi River and ensure that we work hard and bring food to the table.

“We are also in the process of mobilising small gold processing machines for our youths who are into artisanal mining.”
