Unlocking value Part 2

REPRODUCED below are excerpts from a sermon by Emmanuel Makandiwa on November 26, 2013. “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” Mark 10:47-48

There is a demon that fights infrastructure in Africa. If you acquire a piece of land right now and attempt to build, a curse will be activated to fight against you and your family.

Right now, you may think you have problems, but if you start building your house, you will notice that we are no different from Jericho.

There are so many issues that you find in Jericho. In the Old Testament during the time of Elisha, the waters were bitter and Elisha had to do something about the situation; which means that God can definitely do something about your situation.

Jesus was about to move out of the city of Jericho and the son of Timaeus came crying to Him for he had heard that it was Jesus passing by.

Jesus had come into Jericho and walked freely and He was about to leave without doing anything for Bartimaeus. If you are not careful Jesus can do that; He can walk into any church and walk out without addressing your issues.

God Himself was ready to depart without doing anything for Bartimaeus because you have to do something to attract His attention. Bartimaeus shouted to the extent that other people began to complain about the noise.

People have to understand that our cases are different. Everywhere you go you need to understand that the moment you begin to attract God’s attention, there is a kind of protocol ready to slow you down.

It is God’s plan that every time we try to push towards a certain goal there has to be resistance to test whether you are really desperate or you are just playing.

Are you really desperate for change or for your miracle? Bartimaeus was blind and on top of that he was among those in a disadvantaged community because the city was operating under a curse. Which means even if he was to open his eyes, he was going to see a curse.

It is a city where development was being fought left, right and centre. Jesus, when He heard Bartimaeus calling unto Him, ordered him to come and the same people who were trying to stop him brought him to Jesus.

You have to know that the people who were fighting your success in the past are going to help you. Bartimaeus was a cursed man living in a cursed community and when Jesus told him to come; he threw away his garment immediately and ran to Jesus.

Before he could get a miracle from Jesus he was supposed to throw away certain policies.

You have to understand that the garment was his only covering; which means even if Jesus was not going to heal him, Bartimaeus was left exposed forever.

Bartimaeus was supposed to throw away everything he used to rely on. He had tried everything and nothing worked. He threw away the garment before he got his miracle; that is why he finally got it.

Are you ready to part with your old fashioned way of doing things in your life? Before a miracle can be performed, how many things are you ready to throw away as a sign that you are ready for the miracle?

During that time, it is believed that the moment you become a beggar; you were supposed to be a registered beggar. You were supposed to be acknowledged and accepted as one. You were not supposed to just go around and beg unless you were certified. You needed a certificate that qualifies you to be given alms.

They would give you a certificate and an attire so that when you are moving around, even before you can ask for money people would know that you want it.

That is why it is not normal to see America coming to borrow money from Africa, but it is normal for Africa to borrow money from America. It is because Africa has been acknowledged, ordained, certified and authorised to be given. It has got all the

rights to get international assistance.

There is a reason why majority of African countries are broke and that is blindness. Most countries outside Africa are willing to get anything from Africa except Africans; they are interested in our resources and not in us.

As Africans, we need to open our eyes and see. If you are blind you cannot move unless you get aid from somebody. Even if your portion is already set before you, lack of vision requires that you get somebody to lead you into your inheritance which is already provided.

If you are blind and you deal with those who can see, it is easy for you to be short-changed.

There is a scripture in the Bible that teaches us never to sell our land. (“The land shall not be sold for ever . . .” Leviticus 25:23).

It is a God-given policy not to sell land. Africa has got only two problems; we cannot see and when we do see, we do not know what to do with what we are seeing.
