Learn to accept criticism

-

ONE of the most difficult things to accept is criticism, to be told you are doing things wrongly and you may need to change. We all seem to readily accept praise and compliments, we want to be told what we want to hear — those things that make us grow wings and feel like we can conquer the world.

Invariably we must all seek to be better and sometimes, regardless of how harsh the words we hear about ourselves may be, it is sometimes the best medicine we may ever be given to heal us and make us better.

Criticism makes us reflect, it makes us take a deeper look at what people see and not what we want them to see.

We sometimes believe the things we tell ourselves about who we are, yet the truth may be far from what we see. Those that love us will seek to correct us and more importantly, they will tell us things that will ultimately make us better.

Take a deeper interest in what is said by those that seek to build you. Make a concerted effort to listen, embrace the truth, and ensure that you implement constructive advice. Sometimes the Lord speaks to us through people. Listen, He may just be urging you on to be the best you can be. Make an effort to change. Be blessed.
