Seed Co donates to Kwekwe Primary, Hospital
LEADING seed producer, Seed Co on Wednesday donated $5 000 and 10 tonnes of maize-meal to Kwekwe Primary and District Hospital respectively after the company recently made a pledge to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa at a field day that was held at the President’s farm.
Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs Cde Owen Ncube received the donations on behalf of the First Lady and handed them over to the beneficiaries. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Minister Ncube said the donations were part of the First Lady’s nationwide programmes that were aimed at improving the health delivery system and education in the country.
He described the First Lady as a hard working mother of the nation who was eager to see an improved health system in the country. “Our First Lady is a hard working mother. She wants to see our education system as well as the health delivery system change for the better under the new dispensation.
“This is why she has been on a nationwide tours of hospitals and approaching the corporate world to make various donations in the health sector,” he said.
Cde Ncube applauded Seed-Co for working hand-in-hand with Government in Command Agriculture and other sectors of the economy.
“We have been working hand in hand with Seed-Co in Command Agriculture and we are grateful that the company is also working with Government in other sectors of the economy as witnessed by the donations today. “
