Seed Co do­nates to Kwekwe Pri­mary, Hos­pi­tal

LEAD­ING seed pro­ducer, Seed Co on Wed­nes­day do­nated $5 000 and 10 tonnes of maize-meal to Kwekwe Pri­mary and Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal re­spec­tively af­ter the com­pany re­cently made a pledge to First Lady Aux­il­lia Mnan­gagwa at a field day that was held at the Pres­i­dent’s farm.

Min­is­ter of State for Mid­lands Pro­vin­cial Af­fairs Cde Owen Ncube re­ceived the donations on be­half of the First Lady and handed them over to the ben­e­fi­cia­ries. Speak­ing dur­ing the han­dover cer­e­mony, Min­is­ter Ncube said the donations were part of the First Lady’s na­tion­wide pro­grammes that were aimed at im­prov­ing the health de­liv­ery sys­tem and ed­u­ca­tion in the coun­try.

He de­scribed the First Lady as a hard work­ing mother of the na­tion who was ea­ger to see an im­proved health sys­tem in the coun­try. “Our First Lady is a hard work­ing mother. She wants to see our ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem as well as the health de­liv­ery sys­tem change for the bet­ter un­der the new dis­pen­sa­tion.

“This is why she has been on a na­tion­wide tours of hos­pi­tals and ap­proach­ing the cor­po­rate world to make var­i­ous donations in the health sec­tor,” he said.

Cde Ncube ap­plauded Seed-Co for work­ing hand-in-hand with Gov­ern­ment in Com­mand Agri­cul­ture and other sec­tors of the econ­omy.

“We have been work­ing hand in hand with Seed-Co in Com­mand Agri­cul­ture and we are grate­ful that the com­pany is also work­ing with Gov­ern­ment in other sec­tors of the econ­omy as wit­nessed by the donations to­day. “
