Call to bring MDC-Alliance leaders to book

ZANU-PF youths yesterday urged police to arrest MDC-Alliance leaders for inciting violence in Harare, which left six people dead, 14 injured and property worth thousands of dollars damaged in the central business district (CBD).

A bus belonging to a ZANU-PF councillor and six vehicles were torched at the ZANU-PF provincial offices in Harare.

Speaking to journalist­s in Harare yesterday, ZANU-PF Harare youth leader Cde Godfrey Gomwe said they were reliably informed that officials from MDC-Alliance provided alcohol to the protesters, resulting in the violent protests.

“We want police to arrest the people who incited the violent clashes,” he said. “We are aware that Tendai Biti (leader of the People’s Democratic Party), Nelson Chamisa (MDC Alliance), Jim Kunaka and Shadreck Mashayamom­be provided the protesters with beer and incited them to
