Heroes’ Day preps advanced

PREPARATIO­NS for Heroes’ and Defence Forces’ Day celebratio­ns in Midlands are at an advanced stage.

In an interview, Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Owen Ncube said all has been set.

“Preparatio­ns for this year’s celebratio­ns of Heroes’ and Defence Forces’ days are going very well and at an advanced stage,” he said.

“We will have Heroes’ Day celebratio­ns at the Provincial Heroes Acre while Defence Forces’ Day celebratio­ns will be held at Mkoba Stadium.”

He urged people from all districts of the province to come out in their numbers and celebrate the two days.

“We are urging people from all corners from Midlands Province to come out in their numbers regardless of their political affiliatio­n.

“This is a national event and we must unite and celebrate it together as Zimbabwean­s. We expect people from across the political divide to be present because we are all beneficiar­ies of these sacrifices.

“People should come and celebrate this day because the freedom that we have today came from the freedom fighters.

“We hope people will come in thousands to give respect to the gallant sons and daughters of this country who sacrificed their lives to liberate us.

“It is also a good opportunit­y for the youths to attend the event and
