SALISBURY, 3 September 1968. — Rhodesian Front councillor­s have been elected chairmen of all five Salisbury City Council committees which have met since the beginning of the new mayoral year last month.

The RF, which has a 9-7 majority on the council, controls all, but three of the 10 committees, which elect their chairmen and deputy chairmen at their first meetings.

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Joseph Pitluk (RF), was yesterday elected chairman of the Estates Committee, with Cllr F. J. Lovatt (RF) as deputy chairman. Office bearers elected last Friday were: Health, Housing and African Administra­tion Committee, Cllr Olive Robertson (RF), chairman, and Cllr Bill Bernard (Ind) deputy chairman; Public Works Committee, Cllr Douglas Tanner, MP (RF), chairman and Dr G. R. Bates (Ind).
