Guardi­ola plans Barca re­turn:

LON­DON. — Manch­ester City boss Pep Guardi­ola has said he would like to end his coach­ing ca­reer where it be­gan, with Barcelona’s re­serves.

Guardi­ola (47), in his third sea­son at City, took over Barca’s B team in 2007 be­fore be­ing pro­moted to the se­nior side a year later.

“I will fin­ish where I started; my fi­nal steps will be with youth teams. Hope­fully, it will be Barca’s,” he told the Universo Val­dano show, which will air in Spain on Thurs­day night.

This sum­mer, for­mer Barcelona mid­fielder Guardi­ola ruled out a re­turn to coach the Barca first team. He won three La Liga ti­tles, two Cham­pi­ons Leagues and two Club World Cups dur­ing four sea­sons in charge. Guardi­ola signed a twoyear con­tract ex­ten­sion with City in May, keep­ing him at the club un­til June 2021, and guided them to last sea­son’s Premier League ti­tle with a record-break­ing 100-point tally. “My teams will try to play how I want them to play,” he said. “That’s why I’m a coach and I de­serve to be happy.” — ESPN.
