Magaya hailed for cholera donation

- Herald Reporter

ZIMBABWEANS yesterday hailed Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries founder Prophet Walter Magaya for responding to the outbreak of cholera by donating an assortment of goods worth $1 million.

Prophet Magaya made the donation on Sunday.

Part of the donation, which will target 10 000 households in the epicentre of the cholera outbreak, Budiriro and Glen View, was made during a PHD Ministries church service in Waterfalls, Harare.

Prophet Magaya also donated more supplies to Glen View residents affected by cholera.

During Sunday service, Prophet Magaya announced that all church members living in areas affected by cholera would be given detergents and water purification tablets.

“This was a noble act done by the man of God. People should refrain from looking for negatives in every act,” said Ms Patronella Wakunda.

She was reacting to the story on Prophet Magaya’s donation on The Herald online.

“We are grateful father . . . we are a blessed nation because we have you,” chipped in Rumbie Chimbadzwa

Another reader, who only identified herself as Molly, slammed critics of Prophet Magaya’s donation.

“Thank you Prophet Magaya for donating. I am just shocked by some people who even criticise the source of funding yet if you ask such people they did not donate a single cent to the cholera cause,” she said.

“Thank you baba Magaya. These are the people we need in communities. Thank you my prophet for leading by example. Thank you PHD Ministries. Keep donating to such worthy causes,” added Pamela.

One Nyanhaz urged Prophet Magaya not to be discouraged by some people who were scandalising the donation.

“Thank you Prophet Magaya. It’s a noble cause . Don’t let your heart be troubled by these negative comments . Your efforts are much appreciated and noted . It is well. Continue giving as per God’s mandate. Musacheuke muridzo,” said Nyanhaz.

Others like Praxedis Mlalazi Ndlovu tried to discredit the value of the donation made by Prophet Magaya.

“That’s a hamper consisting of domestos, gloves, sanitiser, hand cleaner . To me it’s about $20 times the said 10 thousand households thus totalling to $200 000, I ask myself did he (Magaya) steal $800 000 from the cholera victims after donating , was the million mismanaged like the Econet money? Or was the value of the donations inflated,” said Ndlovu.

She was, however, reprimanded by Ayron Chats.
