Deliver on poll promises: Zivhu

- Innocent Ruwende recently in CHIVI

CHIVI South legislator Cde Killer Zivhu, who is assisting communities in carrying out 56 infrastructure projects at various schools in the constituency, has challenged fellow legislators to deliver on their election promises.

Cde Zivhu will soon publish the Chivi South Constituency Bulletin to showcase the projects and seek partnerships and funding for many other developmental initiatives in the constituency under his Killer Zivhu Foundation.

He is targeting to complete the schools projects, which include the construction of a school, in May next year.

Mr Zivhu donated cement ranging from 50 to 200 bags to 56 schools and churches last week.

He is now seeking assistance to complete the projects in schools in his constituency, most of which do not have computer labs which are now a requirement following the introduction of the new curriculum.

“I am investing in various projects which include building of classroom blocks, construction of a new school, as well as building weirs, among others,” he said in an interview.

“I am working with communities in the projects which I expect to be completed in May 2019.

“In May this year, the Killer Zivhu Foundation managed to source some bags of cement and other materials for the 56 schools, churches, clinics and the community at large in Chivi South.

“We are going to launch a Chivi South bulletin which will be published soon to articulate the projects as well as seek assistance for some of the projects.”

Cde Zivhu said he was aiming to develop Chivi South into one of the best constituencies in the country and it was in that light that he would tour several countries to seek funding in order to complete the projects.

“Friends of Killer Zivhu Foundation have made arrangements for me to travel to other nations, especially Europe, to seek assistance,” he said.

“We are saying as the people of Chivi South, the President has spoken and laid his vision about how he wants to transform this country into a middle income economy by 2030.

“We have, as people of Chivi South, understood the vision and we must work and fulfil the President’s aspirations of bringing development in our communities. We are going to deliver as Zanu-PF and we are not going to put our President to shame. We are going to deliver as per manifesto of our party.”

Cde Zivhu said the Killer Zivhu Foundation would assist all disadvantaged communities, regardless of their political affiliation.

“Politics is over, we are now on a developmental thrust,” he said.

“We must unite and build our country. We have projects that we want to start early next year which include goat rearing. I want Chivi South to become the best goat meat provider in Zimbabwe.

“We are also going to intensify projects that we have started, especially that of water harvesting.”

Mr Zivhu said weirs would help the communities to start irrigation programmes.

He said he was working to make sure communities had boats that would be used for fishing in the giant Tugwi-Mukosi Dam that is located in the constituency.
