BLACK RHINOS midfielder Donald Mudadi was crowned the team’s Players Player of the Year and Soccer Star of the Year at the army side’s end-ofyear awards function in Harare last Friday.

Mudadi could not hide his joy as he scooped the award for the second time in a row.

“This shows that I’m on the right path career wise and I’m really aiming to be the Premier Soccer League’s Soccer Star of the Year next year. I know I can do it and I just need to work extra hard,” said Mudadi.

Mudadi had a brilliant second season in Rhinos’ colours and is eager to renew his expiring contract which will lapse at the end of this month. The midfielder was outstanding and was the driving force of the army side this past season.

The youthful Mudadi believes he has a bright future in football and is looking forward to it.

“Chances of renewing my contract are very high but obviously if other teams have better offers I may leave Rhinos.

“I’m only 22 years old and I know I have a lot to give to Zimbabwean football. I have no idea of how I’m going to spend the money I won, but I will give it to my mom,” added Mudadi.

Former Banket United attacking midfielder Edgar Chigiji was named the Most Improved Player at the same event.

“I really worked hard for this and perfected my game play. I must say I am learning from the best,” said the attacking midfielder who is still contracted to Black Rhinos and is promising an even better things next season.

Lot Chiunga won the team’s top goalscorer award.
