GWELO, 14 January 1919. We are not at all sure that the meeting of the Council of the Responsible Government Association held at Gwelo on Saturday carries the country very much further in regard to the vital political issues which are now occupying some measure of public attention.
We ventured to suggest a day or two ago that, as an association, the members were not completely united in their desire to secure the object for which the association was formed and we indicated the possibility of trouble ahead.
Unfortunately for the peace of mind of those who are strong advocates of responsible government, our prediction has been amply proved to be true.
