Responses to “Drought claims 115 elephants in Hwange”
I think CITES should allow Zimbabwe to sell elephants and remain with manageable numbers given that the country has exceeded the sustainable carrying capacity. The proceeds will then be used to sink those 400-metre deep boreholes to save the animals in case of severe droughts, like the one we are experiencing. — Elijah Chihota.

All those who were making noise about Zimbabwe’s decision to offload some of its elephants to China should come up with a plan to save these animals or forever hold their peace! — Mapozho Saruchera. SMS/ WhatsApp: +263714111101
Response to “President reshuffles Cabinet”
As for the appointment of younger people to ministerial positions, this is very welcome. It places ZANU-PF in the vanguard of national leadership. We welcome the younger comrades. We look forward to learning to talk to each other in ways that advance the interests of our country. We call upon Government to join business, either as a partner or competitor. Through the State, we can all feel we own our mines and plantations. For a people that came through “Chibharo”, denied equal educational and employment opportunities, such a feeling of economic inclusion will symbolise a nationwide recruitment into the ranks of defenders of our land , Zimbabwe, and our truest cultural values. — Takunda Nigel.

finally jailed”
But, better late than never! Well done comrades at The Herald.
We can never correct everything about the past, but as we go about the business of transforming our country let’s pick such clear acts of impunity and have them dealt with. Let us always remember that women are a critical part of our society. Women give birth to every human being, therefore, must be afforded special protection from violence and trauma in society. Further, we must thank them for this special contribution by showing them love and respect. A society that protects women and allows them to contribute to nation building is surely guaranteed to be prosperous! Let us not be known to be like men whose records of killing women are disgusting. The interpretation of this is that instead of taking out our frustrations on our women, we must work hard as men of Zimbabwe. Let us work hard to lower some of the stresses that trigger domestic violence. — Anthropologist.

This was attempted murder. Three years for assault is a joke and to even have the sentence reduced for “good behaviour” is an insult to the victim who now suffers permanent and life- changing injuries. This whole case was riddled with corruption from the word go. — Nimrod.
