Response to “62 confirmed Covid-19 cases recorded in one
day”
We hardly had any cases until people started returning from other countries and escaping quarantine centres. I now feel like I wasted eight weeks of my life in April and May for nothing cause either way we all going to get it because of the returnees. — @breakingpoint.

Response to “Knives
out for Gomwe”
The culture of indiscipline which characterised the era before 2017 should be buried in the same grave that the G40 was buried. Before 1980, young people who participated in Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle were very disciplined and that contributed to the successful execution of that struggle. — john sigauke.

Response to “Comment: We can produce our way out of inflation”
This means that our economy had developed to an industrialised level ( look at Southerton, Willowvale, Workington, Msasa, Belmont etc. We would import primary products from the region and process (value add) for use locally or exporting as finished products at a higher price — even back to the countries where the raw materials had been imported from. If this is our niche, then let’s concentrate on that and develop it. Let’s import primary products from agrarian economies in the region, process and re- export. Let us not import finished products. You will not find advanced economies (Europe, USA or Japan) importing finished products, they look for raw materials for value adding and re- export at higher returns. Let new emerging economies in the region who are still excited with maize tonnage per hectare do that work for us. — Mura Costa Tarabuku.

Response to “Govt clarifies US
dollar payment”
The measures have deflated detractors’ plot of inciting civil servants against the Government. What needs to be done now is to monitor their machinations because they are not sleeping strategising on how to counter what the Government has done. — Sigauke.

The 50 percent salary hike, the Covid19 relief allowance and the non-monetary benefits are all attempts by to ease pressure on civil servants. — Gilbert Bere.

I am happy that Government has increased salaries of civil servants. However, there is need to urgently address issue of prices. Once the money is received, tomorrow or the following day, the prices will have sky rocketed. — Eliah/Kunta Kinte.
