- Ali Morad Herald Correspondent Ali Morad is the president of Lebanese Zimbabwean Friendship Association in Beirut.

THROUGH honouring the blood of the martyrs and heroes of the liberation struggle in cooperation with the exceptional leader among them, Zimbabweans can make their country a prosperous one.

A man among the country’s first revolutionaries, President Mnangagwa is the pillar of the defence of Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans.

He is one of the men who went beyond the torture and oppression by the colonial machinery of subjugation, to take up arms against colonialism and imperialism.

Yes, he did not give up and hold back on sacrifices for the sake of all Zimbabweans. He stood firm at the front, and held his soul in his hands, because he was not afraid of death.

All the plains, mountains, hills and valleys of Zimbabwe know him, as he expunged the flowers of his youth in those spaces for the liberation of his people.

He was the one who stood by the founding leader of the nation, since the dawn of resistance, and throughout the period of struggle and independence; because he embodied national principles and morals.

When one reads the history of Zimbabwe, one will find this man’s name among the letters and words on all the glorious pages of memory. He is an epitome of the enduring history of Zimbabwe, and his ideological grounding is inspired by the collective legacy passed down from generation to generation, for the sake of the homeland, freedom and independence.

Zimbabwe’s heroic compass is drawn between the steadfast lines of his face, which informs the reader or onlooker about the essence of shared glory and dignity.

The sacrifices sit there amidst those creases of wisdom to tell the beholder of the long journey to freedom and independence.

He is the heartbeat of Zimbabwe — the land of the forefathers — the land of the great African man.

Whoever knows great men knows him, for he is one of such ilk.

His name is Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, the revolutionary icon, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Zimbabweans, preserve this great leader! Do not let him down, and do not allow enemies of Zimbabwe to gloat over your presumed fall.

Support this humble man in every place and time, because loyalty to the heroes of your struggle for independence, liberation and freedom is a duty for all of you.

This prodigious leader is the one who prevents detractors from realising their plots to plunder your beautiful country. He is the custodian of the martyrs’ trust, and the fallen heroes’ will. They sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Zimbabwe.

You are a great people in every sense of the word: be it in moral values and patriotism. You are a loyal people, and you wish peace to all African countries and the world at large.

Zimbabweans are educated people, aspiring for decent life under the able leadership of this extraordinary leader, President Mnangagwa.

Today, you are under the care of God, and the stewardship of this selfless man. You have to rally behind him, and help him to help you achieve progress and prosperity.

Together, you will build Zimbabwe and guard your national gains from the evil intentions of those who want to destroy your dreams and future ambitions.

Unity and support of your servant leader and great man, will help you make Zimbabwe a flourishing country, as God wills it to be.
