Responses to “Can Billiat deliver again”

Is a Warriors win going to give us any glimmer of hope or we are already down and out of the World Cup competition? People like me would say, Billiat can score 10 goals today, but it will count for naught because the Warriors are out of the world cup already. — @Mas.

Response to “Democracy is not about generational entitlement”

Growing up in the village and my father being the headman, he presided over the area’s important matters at his revered men’s gathering (dare). And usually, chickens and goats roaming the yard would now and again come too close to the gathering of elders in debate almost disrupting the goings on. Often my father would summon us to chase away the goats and hens. I am sure Chamisa is familiar with that experience too. The role of boys is to herd goats so that they don’t disturb the mature people carrying out the important business of the village. It is laughable that Chamisa can compare the character and bravery of the generation that prosecuted the armed struggle to him and his colleagues whose only notable bravery was killing a police dog during student activism days of the 90s.

Chamisa cannot compare the war time youths who braved the onslaught of machine gun and helicopter gunship fire to his generation who ran helter-skelter at the explosion of a teargas canister. It is laughable when the likes of Tendai Biti say “take Zimbabwe back to where it was before and him and his colleagues will liberate it” when just by knowing that the police wanted to interview him, fled to Zambia, scared of being interviewed by a mere cop. This is the man who could liberate a country? Please advise Nelson and his boys and girls that they should stop making noise, we are busy running the country. Running a country is a totally different ball game from student activism. These guys must run municipalities efficiently first, before we consider them for higher roles. We don’t enrol students who fail primary school into university. It doesn’t work that way. — Masaisai.

Response to “Editorial Comment: With focus Warriors can

restore national pride” True, the most disappointing thing is nobody will be held accountable for the mess. ZIFA carry on as if nothing happened. I look at the likes of Bryton Malandule and I wonder why he did not resign after such a poorly executed decision? Why is Machana, Kamambo, Mupandare, Chagonda and company still strutting their egos around claiming to be in charge of our football and nothing is being done about them? Why didn’t the

ZIFA Council not pass a vote of no confidence on this board? Should we allow ZIFA to hide behind FIFA and destroy our country? The SRC should have acted. It is our country that suffers, not FIFA.
