Former Highlanders player making waves in Europe

-

FORMER Highlanders Rugby Club player Josiah Gondo is making waves for his new club Manchester Rugby Club in England.

Gondo has established himself and is already breaking records in Manchester with 10 tries in three games.

Manchester Rugby Club coaches were amazed when the small built man crushed through three tries on his debut.

Gondo claims it is unreal experience being part of the team and thanked former legend Brian Ndlovu who took him under his wing on and off the field.

The frontman says that having someone like Brian by his side has helped him a lot as he starts a new life in Europe.

“I thank Manchester Rugby club for the opportunity and making him feel welcome. I had no experience for rugby at this professional level and I hope to be playing first team rugby soon.

“I believe I can showcase my skills against the best and be tested at one of the highest standards of the game,” he said.

Knowing Josiah “The Terminator”, as he is fondly known by his former team-mates at Bosso, he is embracing every minute and has a laugh at how players will fall off his back assisting his wingers with tries.

Manchester’s gain is Zimbabwe’s loss as Highlanders Rugby Club keeps producing players of Gondo’s calibre.

Hopefully this will not be the last player from Highlanders Rugby Club going of shores to showcase their skills.
