HIGHLY- RATED entertainment and lifestyle magazine show “Club E” is opening up access to its backstage scenes through online screening.

The show which is aired on ZBC TV every Tuesday and Friday evening will boost its online presence from their usually trimmed episodes that are broadcast on social media to a more elaborate behind the scenes footage of each episode.

In an interview with Herald Arts, “Club E” executive producer, Tafadzwa Jack Chimbetete, said increasing online presence is part of their growth plan.

“We will be launching more online presence for the show with behind the scenes and excerpts of interviews that are not screened on our social media. We have been working on this for 3 years,” said Chimbetete.

“Club E” has been airing on local television since 2016 taking a break between 2017 and 2018 only to bounce back in 2019.

The show gives artistes an opportunity to launch new music, while sharing different entertainment and lifestyle news.

It also features movie reviews and profiles top celebrities in sports and entertainment.

“So Club E has been running for a long time on television firstly being presented by Marc Mandisoul and Vee Candy and then had another stint by Mona K,” said Chimbetete.

“We have profiled a number of people with recent ones being Nutty O, Holy 10, Poptan, Dhadza D, Selmor, National Rugby team players, Joe Njagu, and Anita Jackson, among others.

“We have also interviewed international artistes like Ringo, and featured Burna Boy when he was in Zimbabwe”.

Chimbetete said the show has been showing tremendous growth since its return in 2019.

“The growth has been tremendous with a high demand of traffic during our prime time slot”, he said.

“The response has been overwhelming although we have been intentional about not showing full episodes on social media because of our plan for an online platform where we will release all our content.

“On television alone we can boast of having the most popular entertainment show right now that’s why we want to start talking about it more with the media as we get it set up for the next level.”

Chimbetete said as part of the next level expansion, “Club E” is also introducing content sourced from correspondents in different parts of the world.

“We are growing the show to have more than just one presenter, to work with correspondents in different cities and some that are able to travel to different countries like what I already do as the executive producer.

“We are also going to engage new partners so that we have all the resources we need”.

The show recently broadcast a special episode celebrating Jamaica’s 60th anniversary which saw Chimbetete interviewing reggae icon Tony Rebel from his Jamaican base.

“Club E” will however do away with using celebrity presenters in a ploy to groom new talent as the local entertainment industry continues to grow.
