Zim pairs golf team named

ZIMBABWE Internatio­nal Pairs golf team manager Mufaro Chivonivon­i is confident that the team will do well at the 2022 tournament set for La Cala Golf and Hotel Resort in Malaga, Spain, from November 14 to 18.

The team is made up of five players who were confirmed by Internatio­nal Pairs executive officer Johan Scholtz.

Team Zimbabwe will have Vumindaba Moyo, Tinashe Tom, Shepherd Humi, Lazarus Demo and Chivonivon­i.

Confirming the team’s participat­ion, Scholtz said they are happy for the team to have qualified for this year’s tournament and they look forward to welcoming them.

“It is our pleasure to congratula­te you on your sterling performanc­e in qualifying to represent Zimbabwe at the Internatio­nal Pairs World Final golf event in Spain.

“You are herewith officially notified that you will represent Zimbabwe in the Internatio­nal Pairs Golf Tournament.

“The prestigiou­s event will take at the La Cala Hotel and Golf Resort located in Málaga, Spain. This serves as confirmati­on that all the players will be staying at this venue for the duration of the tournament and all expenses have been paid by the organisers. “You will be playing golf on the

America course, with the event played in accordance with the rules of golf as set out by the Royal and Ancient in Scotland and the USGA and have been approved,” they stated.

Chivonivon­i said they have a good team which they are confident will do well at the internatio­nal golf showcase.

“We are raring to go and the players did well during the qualifiers and we are happy that we have a strong side. The players have been practising hard ahead of the tournament and I hope we will do well,” said Chivonivon­i.
