- Mandaza Chikarango Herald Correspondent

THE Zimbabwe National Army last week welcomed the gesture by the corporate world to sponsor its charity organisations, with the revenue from a golf day expected to exceed US$ 5 000.

The army runs five charities: Tsanga Lodge Rehabilitation Centre, ZNA Widows and Orphans Benevolent Fund, ZNA Schools Welfare Trust, Army Patients Welfare Fund and ZNA Benevolent Fund.

Speaking during a golf tournament to raise funds for army charities at Wingate, Commander Harare District Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Kabaira, who is the patron for Harare Metropolitan Chapter, applauded the corporate world for their support to army charitable organisations. “More than 150 participants took part at the golf fundraising tournament,” he said. “The ZNA golf fundraising tournament is set to raise funds for army charity organisations. As an army we commend the corporate world for their unwavering support they exhibited today. “We expect to receive more than US$ 5 000 and the proceeds are to be channelled to Tsanga Lodge and other army charity organisations.”
