African countries get museum land

THE African Liberation Museum has given at least an acre of land to each African country to build their remarkable historical monuments.

This was revealed by INSTAK chief executive Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi while briefing Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Trade delegates on the African Liberation Museum yesterday in Harare.

Ambassador Muzawazi said the project was at 15 percent, but still making milestones and there was a need for other countries to render support.

“We are doing an outreach to three groups of countries, the first group is that of countries that took up arms to gain independen­ce, the second group is that did not take up arms for independen­ce but were very critical like Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia.

“The third group of countries are non-African countries that are China, Russia and Cuba. All these countries are slowly coming in with various contributi­ons facilitati­ng the project,” said Ambassador Muzawazi.

He said the project was moving smoothly and other foreign countries were submitting their contributi­ons which were showing commitment to restore their identities, values and norms.
