- Joseph Madzimure Senior Reporter

THE Mabvuku-Tafara electorate in Harare should kick-out the inept opposition CCC in the December 9 by-election for failing to deliver services to the residents, Zanu PF deputy national Political Commissar Cde Webster Shamu said yesterday.

The party has deployed Politburo members, Central Committee and Harare provincial structures to ensure no one and no place is left behind during the door to door campaign.

Speaking during an extraordinary Harare provincial coordinating committee meeting yesterday, Cde Shamu said people in Mabvuku should vote wisely during the coming by-elections to safeguard gains of the liberation struggle.

Riding on a crest of achievements that have positively impacted the people, Cde Shamu said the party will win the seat.

The ruling party that liberated Zimbabwe closely working with the people, will always find its strength in the masses.

“The mandate to govern coming from the people, its policies will always speak to the needs and aspirations of Zimbabweans,” he said.

The achievements of the Second Republic, under the leadership of President Mnangagwa, have confounded critics both in the country and those that imposed sanctions to strangle Zimbabwe and turn the people against the Zanu PF Government.

“Zanu PF has an onerous covenant with the people of Zimbabwe, a generational mission to fulfil. No other political party can ever cater for the people of Zimbabwe like Zanu PF,” he said.

He called for the need to fulfil the aspirations of the liberation struggle.

“Let us fulfil the aspirations of the liberation struggle by winning back Mabvuku-Tafara constituency to Zanu PF.

“As party members lets unite against the enemy and win back the seat. Let’s bury our differences to preserve our hard won independence. We want a unity of purpose among party members in Harare to ensure we win the seat for the party.

“Let’s go out there in Mabvuku-Tafara and mobilise the people to vote for Zanu PF. Let us be good ambassadors,” emphasised Cde Shamu.

He urged the deployed members to listen attentively to the views and needs of people of Mabvuku-Tafara.

“We need to address the concerns of the people peacefully. We want to know their problems, listen to them and get their views, sale Zanu PF brand to them,” said Cde Shamu.

He called upon party members to embrace the good works of the President.

He was confident that Cde Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya would win the seat for the party.

“I am confident that Cde Sakupwanya will snatch the seat from the opposition political party, CCC. The seat is not for Cde Sakupwanya alone, but it’s for Zanu PF and its First Secretary President Mnangagwa,” he said.

He commended the Harare provincial leadership led by Cde Godwills Masimirembwa for bringing unity of purpose in the province.

“Harare province used to be a bedrock of violence of late, but since the coming in of the current provincial leadership, the ship is now steady,” he said.

Zanu PF candidate is Cde Sakupwanya, who will battle it out with Mr Phibion Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwe of CCC. Despite losing the harmonised elections in Mabvuku-Tafara Constituency, Cde Sakupwanya continues with his work ethic to ensure development in his area.

He continues providing free transport from Mabvuku-Town, he drilled a number of boreholes to ease water challenges, rehabilitates a number of roads and pay school fees to a number of school going children in the area.

Zanu PF Secretary for War veterans Cde Douglas Mahiya said Mabvuku-Tafara remain in the hearts of war veterans. “We want to win the constituency back to Zanu PF without fail, “said Cde Mahiya.

Zanu PF deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs for Harare Cde Spencer Machangara said they are going to put maximum effort to convince the electorate in Mabvuku to vote for the party candidate.

“We believe the developmental trajectory spearheaded by Cde Sakupwanya will carry the day. He has done everything for the Mabvuku-Tafara residents which is visible,” said Cde Machangara.

Harare provincial deputy Secretary for Lands Cde Edson Ringwa echoed that the party is in full force in Mabvuku-Tafara.

“We are camped there fulltime 24/7 till we win back the seat to Zanu PF. We want to identify the problems facing the Mabvuku-Tafara community.
