- Curtworth Masango

CHISUMBANJE-BASED side GreenFuel are racing to beef up their squad ahead of next season having survived relegation in their maiden season in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Under the guidance of coach Rodwell Dhlakama, they believe they can turn themselves into an indomitable side on the local scene and the African Safari in the upcoming years to match their moniker “Boys dze Nharo.”

Zimpapers Sports understands the club has already compiled a wish list.

The club is also working to improve its stadium in some parts of the stands and the club’s leadership already applied for a budget for that.

To boost their morale and keep up with the standards they are set to receive a new branded luxury bus which has already arrived in Durban en-route to Zimbabwe.

A source close to the club revealed this to Zimpapers Sports:

“The club is looking to beef up and is engaging several players to sign for them ahead of the 2024 season.

“The club will be offering good deals to the players and they believe a number of their targets will be interested to join and build a formidable force.

“The club strongly believes in the capabilities of coach Rodwell Dhlakama and his technical team. They have already shown the country what they can do.”

The source added:

“The club leadership also applied for a budget to improve the stadium.

They are looking forward to improving the canopy in the stands among other things.

Players on the club’s wish list include Meke Tinotenda, Rodwell Chinyengetere, Mandlenkosi Gasela, Kudzai Dhemere, Valentine Katsande, Kudakwashe Nyakudanga, Abel Karembo, Brian Chikwenya, Jerry Chipangura, and Luke Musikiri among others.
