Wife defecates in well

ABITTER husband appeared before Mutare magistrate Miss Nyasha Kuture seeking a protection order against his ‘delusional’ wife, claiming that he was fearing for his life and that of neighbours after she defecated in their water well before poisoning it. Ezekiel Chademwiri told the court that he was now afraid of his wife, Veronica Gona, because of her actions after he refused to her demands of restricting their neighbours access to their water well.

Chademwiri told the court that on a particular day, Gona went to her apostolic church where she was prophesied that her neighbours were trying to poison their well, so they should stop allowing their neighbours from fetching water at the well or having access to it.

Gona came back home and told him about the new development but he refused to comply with her suggestions.

Ezekiel then told the court that, one day after coming back home, he found faeces everywhere in the house and walls. He went to check the well and saw faeces in it and next to the well she wrote; “Ndasiya ndaisa poison” and Gona had already packed her belongings and left.

The complainant told the court that he needed protection against her because she would not hesitate to kill him.

Gona refused to have done such acts claiming that her husband was trying to conspire a plan not to pay maintenance after she left him.

“You Worship, Ezekiel is not telling you the truth because I never did such a thing, he is trying to create means that he avoids paying money for the upkeep of his child since I have since left him,’’ she said.

The protection order was granted for five years.
