APOSTLE Cosmas Mamombe, a rising Rusape based gospel musician, is back in the arena after releasing his third album “Mweya Washe” (Isaiah 61) recently.

Apostle Mamombe’s third offering has proved that the man of God has vastly improved in all key aspects of music such as message, instrument arrangement and sound as compared to his first two projects.

In an interview with The Weekender, the soft spoken Apostle Mamombe said his latest offering which has eight inspirational tracks such as Rudo Chete, Chipatapata, Buruka Mweya, Tenda Mwari, Watungamiri, Muchato Mutsvene, Mirira and Rugare has been well received by his growing fan base and it is receiving encouraging airplay.

“We released our third album just recently and it is titled ‘Mweya Washe’. My first two albums ‘Nguva Yakwana’ and ‘Kutenda Nemabasa’ were well received but this latest one has gone a step further. It was produced here in Rusape and I do the marketing on my own.

“The album is receiving fair play on radio stations and this is encouraging because we want our music to reach all corners of Zimbabwe. We do not sing for financial rewards because our main aim is to spread the word of God through song and dance. Some people repent after listening to gospel music that it why we continue to sing without expecting any returns,” said the leader of Psalms of Mabvazuva.

Apostle Mamombe added that he is ready to partner with other musicians whether secular or gospel ones in live shows around the country.

“In terms of live shows, we are only restricted to Rusape where we perform as supporting acts to visiting musicians. We also perform at various church functions and sometime weddings. Right now we are engaging other musicians so that we work together on live shows outside Rusape,” he said.
