YOUR FEEDBACK

- Truth and Patriotic, Dangamvura ****

FIRST and foremost would like to congratulate Mutare City Rovers for beating Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0 on Sunday at Vengere Stadium. As Mutare community we feel excited to gain maximum points and this winning culture should continue to prevail. My appeal to those who behind Sakubva Stadium’s renovations programme is to speed up the process and so that the team returns it its home ground as soon as possible. Yes, this will reduce costs because some of us go to watch these home matches with our families. It is further encouraging that the number of fans who are rallying behind Gusha Boys is growing daily. People of Mutare, this is our home team and we should continue to give the boys the support they deserve. In the same vein, Gusha Boys should throw away that relegation demonic efficiency because football is based on working hard and there is no two ways about it. In the world of football there is nothing that can beat proper training and sheer hard work. The executive and board members should create good relationships with players and fans for our team to progress further. As football pundits we say no to defeats. We want our team to be counted, nationally, regionally or even globally. All progressive Mutare City Rovers fans should be disciplined always. Finger pointing among the board members must be condemned. The coach should continue to brief us about the latest manifesto in the club because as pundits we have the right to know. Go Gusha Go!!! —Terrence Mwedzi, Mutare.

Some presidential candidates are there to cause confusion in the political arena. It is laughable that many of them have nothing to offer even political gifts. What a joke. They are good at talking. We want action comrades and friends. For someone to become a leader, they should have followers and be on the ground all the time. We want progress to revive our economy. Let us put Zimbabwe in capable and selfless hands. —TMMutare

Last week lead story of The Manica Post made sad reading. Our prison system needs to be changed .Offenders need to be taught life skills and physiological stamina for them to be able to face life after incarceration. Our society needs serious education so that it does not stigmatise ex-convicts. — Tawanda Mhlanga Dangamvura

Vendors who had been removed from the streets are now back again. The area between Dangamvura rank and Bata is now congested again. Council should learn to be firm on the implementation of its by-laws. Vending in the CBD should be at designated places. This free-forall situation makes our town dirty and crowded. Vending should be permitted yes, but only at designated points. — Observer, Mutare

Invading the former President RG Mugabe’s farms will send wrong signals to the world and portray us as a very careless lot on a delicate issue of land. We have the laws and Government structures to deal with whoever violated the one-manone-farm policy. The matter must be dealt with within the confines of the law. —RichardMahu-hushe Chauke

**** Whatever the late Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole was accused of, those who accused him have done the worst to Zimbabwe. When Mugabe was in power, anyone he considered threat to his interests, suddenly became an enemy and was prosecuted on baseless treasonous claims. However, time always vindicate the innocent. Lies do not stick like warts. The late Rev Ndabaningi Sithole was not on holiday when he was jailed as one of the founding nationalists. — RMC

Naming and shaming is not enough. One surest way of protecting investments to get public and investors’ confidence is for the prosecuting authority to have grinding teeth. We cannot have court rooms filled with charge sheets of acquitted criminals when the economy is bleeding because of corruption. — For Social Justice

The former police commissioner cannot disappear like the Malaysia aircraft. Chihuri is facing serious allegations and should clear himself in the courts of law. The eagles have landed and there is nowhere to hide when the soul is tormented by the guilty conscience. — Mahuhushe

On English Language column Mr Editor you are doing a great job. In French they say Merci bucoup, which means thank you. — Anold T Musabayana Mutare

The commissioning of the Kariba South Power Station recently was a great step in realising economic power. The thrust of the new administration to increase production in industries would have been slow without enough power. With $7.2 Billion worth of investments on the cards, the 300 mega watts are a life line. We call upon ZESA to maintain the facility and service it to requirements so that it lasts long. Surely something is happening on the ground. Let us continue with this new fresh spirit of working for our country. — MT, Dangamvura

The removal of the police was a good idea and our roads are now hustle free. A lot of vehicles, some from the scrap yards, are now been driven on our roads putting to the fore the need for VID and Government to look into this. At Sakubva Musika, Kombis are being overloaded with passengers while unlicensed touts are given Kombis to driver as relief drivers. It’s now a jungle on our roads. Action is needed before many lives are lost. —
