THE use of more drones for security purposes at rallies is noble and should be encouraged as this can help detect and uproot some misguided elements who come to rallies to wreak havoc. —Terrence Mwedzi

Sir, may I, on behalf of the Chipinge farming community, express sincere gratitude, to our First Lady, who, despite recent traumatic experiences, visited Mt Selinda Hospital and orphanage as well as some of our most prominent farmers in the district. The farmers have asked me to convey their thanks as well as an appeal for her to influence the honourable Minister of Transport to rehabilitate the bumpy Mt Selinda road over which she travelled and secondly ask the Minister of Agriculture to extend Command Agriculture to macadamia nuts which is currently the most popular and lucrative crop in the district.— James Gabaza, the Zimbabwe Farmers Union, Chipinge

Mr Editor, Why is it that African countries are enormously rich in natural resources yet they are shockingly the poorest? It is high time we know that our natural resources are vital for the development of our nations and we should use them wisely. As youths, our future is in our hands we will give a lesson to the future generation that choosing to protect the nation is an honour . —Mutare

Youths should be patriotic and guard our nation jealously. It is my opinion that Zimbabwean youths are lucky to have a leader like President Mnangagwa to look up to because he has the respect and support of the international community and is working tirelessly to build a flourishing economy for all. — Patriot

Young people should draw positive lessons from ED. If truth be told, President ED is leading us to the land of prosperity, justice and peace. There are some presidential candidates who are now capable of giving promises that unethical in a bid to harvest votes through unclear means. In today’s world, there is no room for unrealistic promises. In the same regard this can blindfold us from seeing the future. — Alert voter

We want leaders who take their words into action always. ED’s administration is there to hear youths’ concerns and has allocated seed money for the first ever youth bank. This gesture must be applauded by all and sundry, and we must ensure that no youth is left out from partaking in reviving the economy now that we have access to formal finance as youths. — Entrepreneur

We want our voices to be heard and it seems there are some teething problems in youth circles. Youth must be funded in a transparency way so that every youth benefits from income generating projects. Let us all rebuild Zimbabwe together. —Mutasa.

***** Nowadays, many motorists are flouting traffic regulations because the number and frequency of roadblocks have been reduced. I urge VID to remove all unroadworthy vehicles from the road and save innocent lives. If the drivers are failing to adhere to road rules and regulations there is no need to remove police from our roads. People agree with me that human life is very important and should be protected always. Let us not flout traffic regulations. — Rusape

Africa should protect its daughters against marriages of convenience where foreigners just marry to get citizenship and thereafter divorce. This is an invasion of some kind and threatens the survival of the tribes if the statistics from Swaziland is anything to go by. This is how STIs from across the globe find their way into Africa. — Concerned, Mutare

Africa was left mourning when its five representative at the World Cup in Russia failed to progress to the second stage. Food for thought for Africa. — Richard

We are not against women getting into power. The late Winnie Madikizela Mandela gave direction to the liberation struggle when the revolutionary leaders were in jail. Ambuya Nehanda is the spring that will inspirationally never lose steam for this land. Women power shapes homes and communities. It was through our mothers’ support for the freedom fighters that we got our independence. We need women in politics. The manner in which one relates with the people’s aspirations, ambitions and the ability to provide solutions determines how far they can climb the leadership ladder. — RMC

Instead of building more universities just to give graduates degrees, let us have a few university for creative works to develop our talents and transform our economies. We are all born with talents that are paradoxically destroyed by this conventional education system. We are killing the future. — Mahuhushe

When we said the sanctions are hurting the economy and causing a lot of suffering to the people, certain NGOs known for propping the opposition argued to the contrary, singing for their supper. With Zimbabwe back to the rails, USAID is has withdrawn funding to a number of these hostile NGOs. The funds were used to sustain luxurious lifestyles of certain individuals known for their hostility towards Government. This is a victory for Zimbabwe. — Chauke *****
